When you’re looking to purchase a new leather motorcycle jacket, the look and the cost stand out. Remember you’re not buying trendy clothing if you intend to use your motorcycle jacket, as a motorcycle jacket. This purchase can save your hide, literally. There is more to be considered when you’re shopping for a leather motorcycle jacket. View our list below of how to shop for motorcycle leather jackets that not only look good, but offer features that meet the needs of today’s bikers:

1 – First you’ll need to decide what you want your Motorcycle Jacket to be constructed with. Motorcycle jackets can be constructed of natural cowhide leather, of course, but there are also fiber based jackets like the synthetic Cordura nylon motorcycle jackets. There are pros and cons to this decision. Most importantly, know what you’re looking for and why you’re looking for it. Cordura motorcycle jackets provide a more light weight jacket which wear cooler than a natural leather motorcycle jacket. A Cordura is naturally more breathable than leather and can be water resistant or even water proofed if designed to be so. A real leather motorcycle jacket is generally going to hold more warmth, which is great during the cooler months, and many leather motorcycle jackets have ample air vents to keep you cool in warmer months. Natural cowhide leather is the choice for most bikers as this provides excellent protection from the weather, will help protect you in an accident and has the look and style today’s bikers are looking for. Quality leather, and premium construction go a long way when selecting a new motorcycle jacket. The thickness of the leather, how the jacket is stitched together, as well as what features are designed into the jacket to provide maximum protection and comfort give you a lot to consider when shopping. The Milwaukee Motorcycle Clothing Company bran leather motorcycle jackets are an excellent choice. Milwaukee Leather provides natural leather motorcycle jackets and Cordura motorcycle jackets at a great value. These leather thickness of a Milwaukee Leather Motorcycle Jacket ranges from 1.1 to 1.3mm for excellent protection and wear ability.

2 – Be sure the leather motorcycle jacket you select has the proper fit. A good fit will look good on you as well as provide better protection and will lesson distractions while you’re riding. Excess loose materials can generate extra wind notice and vibrations that can distract you while you’re riding. As we all know, we want to enjoy the ride and be able to pay attention to traffic, not what our jacket is doing. Top quality motorcycle leather jackets provide style and protection so you get the best of both worlds. Authentic motorcycle jackets are designed to allow you move freely, fit snugly, ventilate appropriately and feel great. The last thing you want is a motorcycle jacket you won’t wear because it’s not comfortable. Motorcycle jackets are designed with slightly longer sleeves than normal to fit correctly when ridding and to keep the sleeves from sliding up your arms. Milwaukee Leather motorcycle jackets generally feature snaps or zippers to allow you to customize the fit of the cuff on your arm for comfort and to reduce wind interference. You’ll also want to look for fit adjustments on the waist and other features that allow a jacket to conform to your body type.

3 – Even more protection can be provided by motorcycle jackets designed to use body armor. Milwaukee Leather offers a few motorcycle jacket styles with CE Approved body armor. This provides added layer of protection for impact areas of the body. These motorcycle leather jackets with body armor normally have protective panels in the back, shoulder region and on the arms covering the elbows. Body armor can either be preeminently sewn into a jacket or can be removable. This allows you to remove these panels when you want to. Some motorcycle jackets have reflective features that reflect light at dawn, dusk or in low-light situations. This enhances your visibility to other drivers, just as vests construction workers wear.

4 – Look for a leather that measures 1mm thick or preferably more when shopping for a leather motorcycle jacket. Milwaukee Motorcycle Leather Jackets range from 1.1 to 1.3 mm thick (depending on if it’s for a man or woman, and also the style). In addition these motorcycle leather jackets are quality Full Grain cowhide leather that is aniline dyed for a smooth leather finish. Each Milwaukee Leather jacket features quality YKK zippers and premium hardware for years of wear.

This is a great article about how to pick a leather jacket. I didn’t consider a lot of this when shopping for my jacket, but I’m glad I picked a Milwaukee Leather jacket. I got the Top Gun. It’s a distressed brown leather jacket and I’ve been very pleased with it. The jacket looks great on and there are lace up size adjustment both sides of the waist, multiple pockets and air vents, as well as a full sleeve zip out lining that is very comfortable.
